Nga Tamariki - how has your documentation supported children's learning?
Nga Pepe - How has your assessment and programme documentation fostered parent involvement?
Hi Glynis
A good question and I will see if I can tell you about that but I don't know if you will get it!!!!!! Receive it I mean.
The first thing that comes to mind is the increased participation and conversation with parents regarding what their children are involved in at Colenso and at home. This sharing has deepened teacher understanding and opportunities for children's participation.
It has shown on going interests in a visual way and alerted teachers and whanau to this.
It has engaged children now that we have lowered it to their level.
It has helped the teachers to be more aware of what we do and why and aided evaluation.
We have more meaningful plans for where we will go next to support children.
Sharing what we do as teachers we hope supports learning for children and parents. Learning is more accessible to whanau and children, supporting partnership and sharing of ideas.
But this is still evolving.
Joy Ta da!!!!
Ka Pai Joy,
As you see I did receive notification of this your first contribution to the wiki; I hope you have clicked on notify me at the top of the page so that you too get notification.
A challenge for others of you out there, especially those of you in infant and toddler centres - any questions for the Nga Pepe team at Colenso!
